Jeep Cherokee is the New Liberty
Cherokee is replacing the Liberty in the Jeep Lineup. It will arrive in the third quarter of 2013 and be available in four different models: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. The starting price for the Cherokee is also $400 less than the Liberty it replaces. Starting at $22,990 it features two engine choices, a 2.4-liter MultiAir2® Tigershark™ I4 4-cylinder, which makes 184 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque with the option to upgrade to Chrysler Group’s a 3.2-liter Pentastar V6. Cherokee delivers 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque with this upgrade. With the standard 9-speed automatic transmission, drivers will see improved fuel economy and acceleration. Cherokee is the first SUV to have a 9-speed automatic transmission. The 2.4-liter MultiAir I-4 will allow drivers to achieve a more than 45-percent fuel economy improvement versus outgoing model as well as a range of nearly 500-miles. Also improving fuel efficiency is Cherokee’s industry first rear-axle disconnect, resulting in reduced energy loss when 4×4 is not needed.
What’s different about the Cherokee? The look of Cherokee is different than you may expect. Mike Manley, CEO of the Jeep brand, described the Cherokee: “The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee is entering the largest SUV segment in North America with an unmatched combination of capability, fuel efficiency, technology, safety and value. Jeep Cherokee is absolutely packed with content that includes numerous industry and segment ‘firsts.'” The upgraded Cherokee Trailhawk is the best choice for off-roading adventures.
The Trailhawk model is a Trail Rated 4×4 with Jeep Active Drive Lock. This model features 17-inch off-road aluminum wheels and all terrain tires and 1 inch lift with off-road suspension and skid plates. The Uconnect system is upgraded to 8.4-inch touchscreen display and also has the option for navigation. It’s also available in 9 colors including distinctive Mango Tango and Eco Green. Also included with your Cherokee Trailhawk are accent color tow hooks, mirrors, grille surrounds, badging, off-road fascia appliques, and roof racks for your gear. A cargo net in the back of the Trailhawk comes in handy for other gear. The rugged look of Trailhawk is met through aggressive front and rear fascia. They deliver exemplary approach and departure angles for class-leading 4×4 capability, resulting in the most capable mid-size SUV in the market. You’ll also make use of the all-weather floor mats on your messiest adventures.
To complete your Cherokee for outdoor adventures, you may want to consider one of two options: CommandView panoramic sunroof or the Sky Slider full-length open canvas roof. The 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk starts at just $22,995. Visit Mancari’s today to pick out your perfect Jeep!
