New Dodge Dart Has Impressive Technology
The Dodge Dart Limited went through a week of testing with Matthew Huff and Brian Champagne at KSL.com. Huff’s favorites on the Dart Limited were the interactive tech features. Various parts of the vehicle including the heated seats, steering wheel, climate control, and radio, work with the knobs or touch screen. The Dodge Dart is great for road trips, driving alone, or with family.
Huff drives a 2007 Lexus IS250 with all-wheel drive, but he said the Dart is faster than his Lexus. In testing, the two liked the driver’s power seat and ratcheting height adjustment for the passenger seat. They found the seats allowed them to get to their desired positions easily. They also found the seats both comfortable and supportive with a small storage area underneath which flips up to accommodate extra storage space. Taking the retail price of $25,190 into consideration, they found the Dodge Dart Limited well equipped for its category.
As for the cruise control on the Dart, it also downshifts, which can prevent the driver from speeding while heading downhill. The automatic high/low beams also impressed. This feature is not often found on cars today, especially not economy cars. In terms of safety and technology, the testers liked the blind spot detector, which lights up a small triangle in the corner of the side mirrors when a vehicle enters the vehicle’s blind spot.
Using the satellite radio prompted a nice surprise, with the ability to rewind songs previously played. Plus, the Dart can also find nearby gas prices and movie listings. This car is technology ready and provides easy interaction to navigate the features. Additionally, the instrument panel is configurable and virtual, while the gas gauge and RPM needles are real. Huff and Champagne liked that the emergency brake was not eliminated, since it is often not included on other vehicles you’ll find available today. They called the two-liter Tiger Shark engine in their Dodge Dart Limited loaner good-looking. Lastly, they believe the command of technology and the ease of using it will impress those considering purchasing a Dart.
