Miranda Lambert and Ram Trucks Team Up for New Campaign
You can’t argue with the choice of talent Ram has aligned themselves with in Miranda Lambert. She is certainly an accomplished country singer and bankable star to boot. Lambert has won the Academy of Country Music Association’s award for Female Vocalist of the Year five years in a row, and she’s won CMA’s Album of the Year twice. That’s not too shabby for a woman only 31 years old, which is why we were so excited here at Mancari’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep when we heard that Miss Lambert had joined her considerable talents with Ram Trucks, writing a tune specifically for a new Ram campaign.
“Roots and Wings” is a touching song in which Lambert credits her father for helping her stay grounded and her mother for giving flight to her dreams. Lambert is currently on her Certified Platinum tour and the video for the song, which prominently features a Ram pickup, will be shown on a giant screen during the concert intermission right before she takes the stage. The “Roots and Wings” theme will be forever associated with Ram in the minds of Lambert’s fans, and vice versa.
It’s not hard to imagine the appeal and star power that a singer like Lambert brings to the Ram brand, or what the iconic image of a RAM pickup will do to solidify Lambert’s persona as a down-to-earth country star. The question is, who will the song appeal to? Will it appeal to men? It should. Will Lambert’s song make Ram trucks more appealing to women? There’s no reason why not. It is the hope of both parties that the new video and commercials will appeal to everyone. The Ram and Miranda Lambert collaboration also saw its first print ad earlier this month in Country Weekly magazine which also featured Lambert on the cover.
Lambert grew up in a small Texas town and has been around trucks all her life. When not on the road touring, or in the studio recording, Lambert spends a lot of time on her ranch in Oklahoma, so it’s fair to say that trucks are still a major part of her life and not a just prop for a country music video. But you don’t have to listen to country music to own a pickup truck, you can listen to whatever kind of music you like. If you’re interested in a Ram truck stop by and see us at Mancari’s. We are located at 4630 West 95th Street in Oak Lawn, IL.
